From The Silk Ranch, this Banded Giant Desert Centipede art print features Scolopendra heros arizonensis "Lineated," a distinctive form associated with the Arizona subspecies of the giant desert centipede. Its elongated body, numerous legs, and characteristic linear patterning make it a striking example of the structural diversity found among North American centipedes.
Illustrated by Mingo X, this biological illustration highlights the centipede's segmented exoskeleton, detailed legs, antennae, and banded appearance. Careful anatomical rendering showcases the distinctive features that make this large terrestrial predator such a fascinating subject.
An excellent addition for centipede collectors, desert invertebrate enthusiasts, and biological illustration collections.
The original style offers a theme of classic technical illustrations often seen in biological fields via textbooks and other similar scientific media. It includes the common name for the species as well as the most up to date Latin name for the species.
The textless style offers a minimalist artistic style that transforms the natural existence of these wonderful species into decorative art. This style highlights the beauty of the Theraphosidae family without the technical side associated with the classifications.
