From The Silk Ranch, this Amazonian Giant Centipede art print features the gold form of Scolopendra gigantea, a species famous for its impressive size and powerful predatory adaptations. Native to tropical South America, this giant centipede is among the most imposing members of its group and an extraordinary subject for biological illustration.
Illustrated by Mingo X, this biological illustration highlights the elongated segmented body, numerous articulated legs, antennae, and powerful forcipules. The golden color theme adds visual distinction while the detailed anatomy celebrates the extraordinary structure of this tropical myriapod.
An exceptional addition for collectors of giant centipedes, tropical invertebrates, and biological illustrations.
The original style offers a theme of classic technical illustrations often seen in biological fields via textbooks and other similar scientific media. It includes the common name for the species as well as the most up to date Latin name for the species.
The textless style offers a minimalist artistic style that transforms the natural existence of these wonderful species into decorative art. This style highlights the beauty of the Theraphosidae family without the technical side associated with the classifications.
