About
Mingo Xie is a digital artist based in California whose work is deeply influenced by the grandeur of Baroque art and the emotive, atmospheric qualities of Impressionism. By merging these classical styles with the versatility of modern digital platforms, Xie creates pieces that evoke a sense of timelessness while challenging the boundaries of traditional art.
Xie’s artistic approach centers on fusing classic landscape paintings with the aesthetics of the digital era. This unique blend allows for a reimagining of historical artistic traditions within a contemporary context. Works such as the Counter Strike Landscape Series exemplify this synthesis, where the depth and texture of classical landscapes are brought to life through the precision and vibrancy of digital illustration.
Much of Xie’s work is deeply personal, drawing inspiration from memories and experiences. This is particularly evident in the Codex Memori series, where each piece serves as a visual exploration of the past, intertwining recollections with artistic expression. Through these memory-driven works, Xie invites viewers to engage with the complex relationship between time, memory, and the interpretation.
Mingo Xie holds a BFA from the University of California, Riverside, and is currently pursuing an MFA at the Academy of Art University. This academic background, combined with a deep passion for blending historical and modern techniques, informs Xie’s unique approach to digital art.
